Working Titles Cause Writer's Block
Okay. I've decided. I really do hate my fic's title.
It's been bothering me for a very long time.

So I'm changing it.

And I'm even gonna' take the time to go back to all the past chapters and editing the subject lines.
Oh, and that chapter listing sidebar thing too...

For an unnecessary understanding of J.D.'s mind-ticking...

1) The old title just sucked. I don't know what I was thinking. I probably wasn't.
2) I didn't realize how involved I would get. Or where the story was going and where it would take me.
3) The new title kills me all sorts of lovely because of this:

Definition of 'cameo':
    1. A gem or shell carved in relief, especially one in which the raised design and the background consist of layers of contrasting colors.
    2. The technique of carving in this way.
    3. A medallion with a profile cut in raised relief.

  1. a literary sketch, small dramatic scene, or the like, that effectively presents or depicts its subject.
  2. A brief appearance of a prominent actor or performer, as in a single scene of a motion picture.

You do make me smile. And I do love you but I have to question the usage of "small" and "brief" in the definitions of cameo. There is nothing small or brief about your story. It's big (and we hope the boys are too) and dramatic and full of angst and life.

And if you don't watch Studio 60 get tonight's epi and watch it. Matthew was great. I'm so sad they didn't renew it.

*hugs*

You make me feel like I'm writing a serious *epic* here. =)
Though I do believe that the "small" and the "brief" may be... Okay. I'm not saying anything. -zipzip-
=D

"and we hope the boys are too"... ROFL.
They are EPIC-sized for sure. LOL.

I don't watch studio60 at all! What was tonight episode? I'll have to try downloading it...

Not bad at all! Is that a definite? I'll change it in my rec post too.

Titles are serious business - it's the first thing people see (which is why I have rather, um, ambitious titles on most of my fics). :D

I do believe it's a definite. =)
And oh geez, thanks so much! I didn't even think about the discrepancies my fickleness may cause... Hmmm...

Your titles are good. Mine is... I don't even know anymore. =D

I changed the title in all 3 posts; fickle around again and we shall have *see icon*. :D (j/k)

The title is enigmatic, enigmatic is good!

I don't want to be pushy, and you probably have better things to do...but I'm writing an outline today for an original fic (as opposed to slash). Would you have time to give it a quick once-over if I send it? I have one or two qualms with it, and I'd really appreciate your opinion on the issue. If not, no problem - let me know either way. Thanks in advance! :)

No more fickle-arounding for me... But then again... Hmmm...
=D

And I would fucking love to take a look at it. I personally would hate working with outlines, especially before I even start writing, but we all work in our own ways, don't we? =)

But pushing aside my me-me-me-universe ;), it would seriously be my a pleasure and honor. Email?
Don't tell me what your qualms are though, for the time being. I don't want my attention brought to anything which may--from an external perspective--not be a problem at all, you know what I mean?

And back to my universe: I am totally flattered that you asked! -grin-

I make outlines because no outline makes me die. Even though during the writing the whole thing changes anyway...well, you know how it is. LOL. But the outline keeps me a little saner.

I'll e-mail in a couple minutes - thanks! But I do have to mention one thing that's a concern, but it's an "overall" concern about the fic you might be able to put to rest. And of course any idea/input would rock my world, it's all pretty vague at this point. :)

Over look the icon...love it and have to use it as often as possible...hehehe. I like the new title, but I'm into short, sweet, and to the point titles...I'd have went with Cameo or Cameo Smile...hehehe. Okay don't hit me!
Hugs,
Rena

You must sit me down and explain your thing for tigers some day. =)

I like short punchy titles too... But I just had to keep the "The One With.." 'cuz it's a Friends thing. Every episode (for the most part) of the entire series had that in its title... So... Friends, Matthew Perry... -geeky shrug-

And plus I really like how I myself am not sure who "the one" is... You know what I mean? Like... I kinda' wanna' leave it a little ambiguous about which character is 'the one with the cameo smile'...

I'm such a dork, I know... -laughs out loud-

Well it's simple...they are great big lovable kitty cats who are so pretty and cute...what's not to love? I also have a major thing for miniature horses, unicorns, dragons, and wolves...go figure.

Hey I totally understand the name you picked. I was just being me...must always have some opinion...right? *grins*

You are so not a dork.
Hugs!

Why limit yourself? Call it "The One With..." then you can give each chapter a subtitle to go with that. Then in then end put them all together "The One With Submission and Need and the Cameo Smile and Too Many Bottles of Wine and Slut Boys on the Sofa and and and ..." I'm not sure if I am serious here or not but it would be awesome to have a title that takes up an entire page.

ROFLMAOOL!!!!
YOU WIN. THAT'S JUST THE BEST IDEA EVER!!!

But I think Alex would hang me (or do yummy worse things to me) if I changed the title again...
LOL. =D

I have no idea what you found funny in this post... but for some reason and whatever it is, it's making me crack up too.
What is wrong with us? =D

We're oddly sane in a seriously insane world.
